One year I had a birthday party and nobody I invited showed up. How does that relate to podcasting? Listen and find out. Also, this podcast seems to be turning into a podcast about podcasting. Should I keep doing that?

Is Beyond the Mask the Film Christians Have Been Waiting For?

This film looks like it has the production quality to attract more than just Christians to theaters. The question remains, however, is it good enough to attract those outside the Church?

Double crossed and on the run, an assassin for the British East India Company seeks to redeem his past by thwarting a plot against a young nation’s hope for freedom.

The leading mercenary for the British East India Company, Will Reynolds, has just been double-crossed and now is on the run in the American Colonies. Working to redeem his name and win back the affections of the woman with whom he’s never been fully truthful, Will now hides behind a new mask in hopes of thwarting his former employer. As his past life closes in on him, Will must somehow gain the trust and the help of his beloved Charlotte – as well as Ben Franklin – while he races against time to defuse a plot of historical proportions. Coming to theaters Spring, 2015, Beyond the Mask is a revolutionary new family film that brings history to life in a faith-filled adventure celebrating grace, liberty, and the true freedom that can only be found in Christ.

Directed by Chad Burns, written by Paul McCusker. Starring Andrew Cheney, John Rhys-Davies (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Lord of the Rings), Kara Killmer (Chicago Fire), and Adetokumboh M’Cormack (Captain America: Winter Soldier). Beyond the Mask will be in theaters April 6, 2015.

I have to admit, the trailer looks great. John Rhys-Davies is an excellent actor so you know he’ll bring A-game. The other actors are relatively unknown and this looks to be the first movie Paul McCusker has written.

I’m eager to see this movie because I think Christians need to produce thought-provoking, high-quality entertainment. We need good filmmakers to get out of the “Christian ghetto” and produce entertainment that can encourage, inspire, and entertain.

Here’s a “behind the scenes” piece that shares a little more about the film. Find out more from Gathr Films as well as how you can bring the film to your community.

What do you think? Will you try to see this in theaters or wait for it to appear on DVD or a streaming service?

How to Change Thumbnails for Facebook Videos

Sometimes the thumbnail that Facebook chooses for your video can be a bit unflattering. If you don’t like your face you can change the thumbnail automatically selected by Facebook.

Unlike YouTube, you cannot upload a custom thumbnail for your video (as far as I know) but you do have more choices that are automatically generated. Here are the basic steps for changing a thumbnail on your Facebook videos:

1. Upload your video.
2. Once your video has been processed go to the “Vidoes” section of your Facebook page.
3. Hover over the video and then click the little edit icon.
4. Along with descriptive information about your video you’ll be presented with a carousel of thumbnails.
5. Choose the best one and click “Save”. You’re done.

Hope this helps!
